Stratus Computer announced today that it will base a new family of fault-tolerant servers
for business-critical and e-commerce applications on the Windows 2000 operating system.
Stratus and Microsoft have been collaborating on the software design and engineering
fronts to bring additional levels of high availability to the new OS. Stratus will add its
fault tolerant technology to Windows 2000 without affecting the kernel. As such, customers
will be able to run their applications out-of-the-box and without modification on the new
servers. Furthermore, end users will have to access to Stratus’ unique 24 x 7 remote
service network; Microsoft and Stratus will deliver seamless customers for both hardware
and operating system issues.
